At DEMCO, we recognize our responsibility to help ensure the long-term health of the earth, now and for future generations. It is not only a social and environmental responsibility, but a business responsibility. And we have established goals and strategies to continually measure and reduce our impact.

Controlling the impact of our industrial activities on the environment is ensured by our environmental management system in place since 2013 and meeting the requirements of ISO 14001.

Waste

We believe that environmental waste equals financial waste.

We constantly explore new ways to minimize or eliminate waste. All our waste is sorted separately, paper, wood, plastic, and cardboard. Then, they are handled by our certified recycling partners for each type.

Water

In our owned manufacturing facilities we manage water use with intense discipline. Improved plumbing fixtures and sensors, the adjustment of optimal water pressure, the minimization of water for our dye houses and laundries’ formulas are all contributing to improved conservation.

We also treat the water we use in our recycling stations so that it is consistent with or better than the national standard.

More than 50 % of the water we use is recycled and reused in production.

Energy

We have implemented a state of the art fully automated energy management system controlled by electric and steam sensors and debit meters, to be able to know and monitor where and how much energy is going at each given moment. This enables us to detect in real time overconsumption and intervene immediately wherever needed.
